Biography
Jeweliyana grew up in Calgary (as Patti Milner)
She is a self taught, intuitive multi-disciplinary artist who paints, works with glass and creates pattern designs for print.
At School she took every art class she could including an individualized Special Ed.Art program that replaced a spare. As soon as she was old enough to register without parental consent, she snuck off to night school and took more art classes. When she graduated, needing to earn her way, she entered the corporate world working as a geological technician and later in promotional advertizing. All the while she continued exploring various art mediums.
In 2010 she opened InFused Glass Works thinking that would be her forever home. By 2015, after taking her glass paintings as far as she could (there are limited number of colors to work with and only so small you can snip glass) she started to paint again.
Her Glass Art has received numerous awards including the People's Choice Award from Parks Canada (Magic in the Mountains Exhibition, 2011) and been featured in "Art Takes Times Square" NYC, USA 2012. Her work can be found in collections throughout North America, Europe and Turkey.
‘View from a Secret Bridge’, a mosaic installation incorporating fused glass can be seen in the Artisan Legacy Gardens at the historical Bow Valley Ranche in Fish Creek Provincial Park, Calgary AB.
Over the years she created numerous windows, custom backsplashes and commission pieces for private collectors.
As of 2023, she spends most of her time painting. She still teaches glass classes and creates a very limited number of pieces in glass.
Her first solo show featuring her paintings was held at Framed on Fifth Gallery in Kensington, Calgary, Dec 2023.
She currently creates and teaches from her home studio in Calgary.
